It is shared by much of Botswana and part of South Africa and Namibia where it plays home to the Namib Desert. The Kalahari Basin covers an even larger area and sneaks into parts of Angola, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

With only one undying river, the Okavango River, which flows into the Okavango Delta, some animals and plants are supported. This is alo possible due to the fact that the Kalahari Desert is not a true desert due the the amount of rain it does receive. Wildlife here include elephant, giraffe, lion, cheetah and leopard.
